Addressing student disengagement in the classroom: Editorial

In a recent article for The Chronicle of Higher Education, six faculty members share how they are addressing student disengagement. Drawing on their experiences, the authors encourage other instructors to ensure students are making authentic human connections to help them commit to learning in a shared space and to require that students engage in classes through interactive lessons and activities. Other tips include respecting student priorities by ensuring flexibility and addressing student struggles by creating space for interactions, emphasizing equity, and discussing unspoken rules for success.
