Bargaining comes to a close at several institutions in BC as unions reach, ratify agreements

Tentative and ratified agreements have been struck with the unions at several British Columbian postsecondary institutions recently. British Columbia’s Post-Secondary Employer’s Association (PSEA) has reached a tentative agreement with the British Columbia General Employee’s Union (BCGEU) under BC’s Shared Recovery Mandate. Almost 950 BCGEU vocational faculty members across Camosun College, Coast Mountain College, Northern Lights College, Okanagan College, and Selkirk College are covered by the negotiations. The agreement is set to renew the expiring common agreement for the institutions, and will also combine with local agreements being negotiated. Members of CUPE Local 116 at the University of British Columbia have also ratified a new agreement under the Shared Recovery Mandate, which includes inflation protection and protections for historically under-represented employees. The agreement covers around 2,400 support service employees at UBC’s Vancouver campus. BC (1)| BC (2) Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
