The Government of British Columbia has invested $3.75M in the BC Graduate Scholarship fund, which provides merit-based, research-focused financial assistance to graduate students. The scholarships will make graduate studies in areas such as STEM and professional programs more affordable for students. Ten BC postsecondary institutions will administer the scholarships, including the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Royal Roads University, Simon Fraser University, Thompson Rivers University, the University of British Columbia, the University of the Fraser Valley, the University of Northern British Columbia, the University of Victoria, and Vancouver Island University.
