The Government of British Columbia has turned down Coast Mountain College’s request for funding for an in-person program to train students in office skills in Houston. The program was designed to provide people in the region with the skills needed to run a business office in response to a committee’s findings that determined that office skills were a local need. “We continue to explore other funding opportunities for this program in Houston, but we don’t have any leads yet,” said CMC workforce training dean Lorrie Gowen. CMC is planning to offer the course at its Terrace campus if the required enrolment numbers are reached. Houston Today Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
