Canada announces improvements to CSFA Program

The Government of Canada has announced improvements to the Canada Student Financial Assistance Program (CSFA Program) for students with disabilities. The program’s disability supports have been extended to include those with a persistent or prolonged disability, and new flexibilities have been introduced around the documents needed when applying for supports. The changes align with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. “This will go a long way toward making college and university education more affordable and accessible for students who often have extra costs and challenges because of their disabilities,” said Frank Smith, Coordinator of the National Educational Association of Disabled Students.
