Canadore receives funding to expand addictions centre

Canadore College will be receiving $6.84M to support the expansion of its North Bay Addictions Centre of Excellence. The funding will support 53 new addictions treatment beds, which will provide specialized addictions treatment to Ontarians in Nipissing and the surrounding region. The new centre will focus on providing culturally-sensitive supports to Indigenous clients through First Nations-led approaches. The expansion will also provide experiential learning opportunities for Canadore students. “We recognize there are mental health and addictions challenges in our community,” said Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing. “Today’s investment of 53 new beds, through Canadore College, will increase access to support services for those dealing with addiction and provide the opportunity to grow and prosper.” Canadore Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
