CICan releases draft of national occupational standard for personal care providers

Colleges and Institutes Canada has released a draft of the first ever national occupational standard for personal care providers. The standard was developed based on job task analyses for each occupation and contains the knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal attributes that workers in each role must have. Future iterations of the standard are expected to include guidelines that will help educators make decisions about skills training. “We’re proud of the leadership role colleges and institutes have played in [the development of the national standard],” said CICan President Denise Amyot. “It has involved a tremendous amount of collaboration and consultation with a broad range of stakeholders across the country.” CICan Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
