CMTN launches accelerated ECE program to address labour shortage

Coast Mountain College has launched an accelerated early childhood care (ECE) and education program that will address Kitimat’s childcare needs. The ECE certificate is delivered in Kitimat at no cost to students, thanks to funding from the Government of British Columbia. It will include contextually relevant learning and Indigenized curriculum so that graduates are ready to contribute to creative, responsive pedagogical spaces. “The lack of available child care in Kitimat is reaching a crisis point,” said CMTN Associate Dean of Health and Human Services Bradley Leier. “[W]e are excited to support this initiative with quality training in the community, so that parents can access the supports they need to continue in their careers.” BC| CMTN Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
