The College of the North Atlantic has announced that its Qatar campus has officially become an independent university: the University of Doha for Science and Technology. CNA and Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education began the service agreement in 2001 with the aim of ultimately seeing the institution become fully independent. The 19 employees from Newfoundland and Labrador who are still working in Qatar will be offered contractual positions. “CNA is incredibly proud of this historic relationship and congratulates the State of Qatar on achieving this incredible milestone,” reads a statement from CNA. “The experience is a model for international partnerships and helps inform CNA’s global brand around the world.” Salt Wire Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
