Concordia University has announced the launch of the Applied AI Institute. The institute will embark on interdisciplinary activities, partnerships, and initiatives to apply artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to problems in a variety of sectors. “The institute has been a multidisciplinary network from inception,” says Paula Wood-Adams, Concordia’s interim vice-president of research and graduate studies, “and the new co-director appointments acknowledge the value of collaboration that we will continue to deliver to society, science and emerging technologies.” The institute will be led by co-directors Tristan Glatard and Fenwick McKelvey.
