Concordia receives funding to support women’s varsity sports

Concordia University has received $1.3M in funding from the Power Corporation of Canada to fund a suite of annual awards for women playing varsity sports. The gift will fund awards for basketball, hockey, rugby, and soccer players; bring visibility to women’s sports programs; and support the whole student through student leadership, health and well-being, community outreach, and national competitiveness. “This gift is meaningful in helping us amplify our voice,” says current Concordia hockey captain Olivia Hale. “I think it will help us improve as athletes and give us the confidence to be leaders and make a difference beyond our sports.” Concordia| Montreal Gazette| Concordia (Video) Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
