Fanshawe College has formally unveiled its new state-of-the-art welding lab. The $5M facility will include 50 welding stations, simulated stations, and separate instructional areas to allow for simultaneous classes. The VR welding stations will allow students to practice their skills without the wasted materials associated with practicing physical welding. “Fanshawe is committed to advancing education and apprenticeship in the skilled trades,” said Fanshawe Dean of the Faculty of Science, Trades and Technology Stephen Patterson. “Labs like these are designed for students to learn the necessary skills, techniques and safety processes they need to graduate ready to enter the workforce.” Fanshawe| CTV News Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
