Honda Canada’s recently announced $1.38B investment into an Alliston, ON facility is expected to have a major benefit for Simcoe County, including Georgian College. The six-year facility upgrade will allow Honda to manufacture hybrid vehicles, and Orillia Matters reports that the announcement will benefit Georgian College, which has a long-standing relationship with Honda and is home to the Automotive Business School of Canada. “It was an incredible announcement for Honda and for our region,” said Kevin Weaver, Georgian’s VP of academics. “It certainly solidifies Honda of Canada Manufacturing in the Alliston community, in our region, supporting the regional economy. There are so many other companies that are in this region because of the presence of Honda because of the manufacturing.” Orillia Matters Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
