Champlain College Saint-Lambert, the University of Manitoba, and York University have recently shared how they are using virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR) to bring a new perspective to student learning and development. At Saint-Lambert, the Cavaliers football team and college IT department are working together to give athletes the opportunity to use VR to revisit game footage that was captured through a helmet camera. Meanwhile, interior design students at UManitoba and engineering students YorkU, used VR and XR tools to develop their skills as part of recent projects. “At Lassonde, we see this pilot not as a one-off change, but as part of a shift in how we prepare students for an evolving work world,” said YorkU Lassonde School of Engineering Director of Educational Innovation Sal Paneduro.
