Lakeland College has announced that it is expanding its flexible health care aide training options with an opportunity to complete labs in Wainwright, Alberta. Starting in the Fall semester, students will be able to complete theory courses online and complete monthly weekend labs in Wainwright. Students will complete three practicums, and will be able to graduate from the program in less than a year. “[The healthcare field] will face a labour shortage over the next 10 years across the country,” said Janice Aughey, Dean of Lakeland’s School of Health, Wellness and Human Services. “Providing more seats and flexible program options will help more students achieve their goals and prepare them to join the health care field and support communities.” Lakeland Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
