Lambton College has launched a new Ontario College Certificate program to train plumbers to address the labour shortage. Mechanical Techniques – Plumbing will cover the Level 1 curriculum for the Plumbing Apprenticeship with theoretical and practical training. The program is designed to help students who may have trouble finding an apprenticeship get experience in the trade and connect with an employer. “Sometimes students need an opportunity to upscale a little bit and get some hands-on experience — get familiar with the tools and techniques and the lingo and the trade,” said Lambton Associate Dean of Technology and Trades Joel Van Bynen.
