MB offers tuition support to help uncertified healthcare aides acquire certification

The Government of Manitoba has announced that it will offer tuition support to uncertified healthcare aides who were hired during the pandemic to help them enhance their skills and achieve certification. Initially, around 120 eligible uncertified healthcare aids will be able to take part in a free 24-week course that gives them the necessary training to become certified for work in the sector. MB is investing up to $3.4M into the initiative as part of a broader effort to continue efforts to expand staffing in personal care homes. “Investing in further training for uncertified health-care aides working in our public health system will improve health outcomes for older Manitobans,” said MB Health Minister Audrey Gordon.
