McGill Continuing Studies launches program for underrepresented groups with $2M from Scotiabank

McGill University’s School of Continuing Studies has announced that it is launching an Experiential Empowerment & Development (SEED) Initiative to help members of underrepresented communities pursue careers. The initiative is supported by a $2M investment from Scotiabank’s ScotiaRISE. SEED provides participants with targeted partnerships with local organizations and opportunities to acquire credentials in essential skills. The curriculum includes French and English upskilling, personalized career coaching, experiential learning, internship opportunities, and networking opportunities. “We are building on our expertise in workforce development and an extensive network of local community and private sector partners to create a comprehensive approach to supporting these learners on their career paths,” said McGill Dean of Continuing Studies Carola Weil.
