Military colleges to undergo review ordered by federal government

Canada’s military colleges will be undergoing a review, following an order from the Government of Canada. Defence Minister Anita Anand stated that the government has accepted all of the 48 recommendations made by former Supreme Court Justice Louise Arbour in a recently tabled report, including a recommendation that calls for a review of the military colleges in Kingston and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. By ordering the review, Anand states that the federal government “strongly affirms that the culture in these institutions must change significantly.” The report says that the evaluation is expected to begin in 2023 and will be completed by a review board led by an education specialist.
