NWP celebrates transformation into polytechnic and reveals new look, programming, partnerships

Northwestern Polytechnic recently celebrated the final transition into its new identity as a polytechnic with the announcement of new partnerships, programs, and donations. The polytechnic, formerly known as Grande Prairie Regional College, held an unveiling ceremony to reveal its new look and direction. The NWP Board of Governors Chair Bridget Hennigar also announced that NWP would offer the first year of a university transfer Bachelor of Engineering program to students in Fall 2022, a degree that is supported by a $1M donation from ARC Resources Ltd. The polytechnic will also be expanding programming options in Fairview this fall and will be exploring additional programming options in the future. “Today we celebrate the rich foundation on which we are building, the efforts of many to get us to this point, and the tremendous potential ahead,” said NWP President Justin Kohlman.
