The Government of Ontario is investing more than $278M to support research at universities, colleges, research institutes, and research hospitals across the province through the Ontario Research Fund and the Early Career Researcher Awards programs. $271.5M—awarded between 2022 and 2024 through the Ontario Research Fund—has been provided to 353 research projects across the province to support operational costs, the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment, and renovations and construction on research facilities. $7.4M—awarded through the Early Researcher Awards—has been provided to 53 researchers in the province to help them build their research teams.
