ON makes $198M investment into 241 research projects

The Government of Ontario has made a new $198M investment into 241 research projects across the province. The funding is provided through the Ontario Research Fund and Early Researcher Awards to help support researchers and cover research costs. The projects receiving funding include the development of a resource focused on cybersecurity for small- and medium-sized enterprises in ON at Durham College; a project on improving the conversion of food wastes into bioplastic at the University of Waterloo; the purchase of a transmission electron microscope at McMaster University; archaeology training at Carleton University; and wind system research at Lakehead University. “These critical investments will ensure our world-class researchers have the technology and equipment to put Ontario at the forefront of innovation, supporting the development of homegrown ideas and products and creating jobs in local communities,” said ON Minister of Colleges and Universities Jill Dunlop.
