The personal information of 15,000 Memorial University students was accidentally leaked during a career development program email campaign, reports CBC. Names, email addresses, student numbers, and programs of study were emailed to around 1,000 students. The students were instructed to delete any emails received after the breach was identified. Memorial has apologized for the breach and has confirmed that it is improving its processes to prevent future leaks. The data released reportedly cannot be used to access human resources data or to access university services.
