Red Deer Polytechnic has announced that it is planning a $16M expansion to its Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing (CIM-TAC). The expansion would grow the CIM-TAC to 25,000 square-feet and enable it to secure additional equipment, which would enable it to serve more partners. It would also provide the polytechnic with increased capacity for skilling and re-skilling, as well as the potential introduction of dual-credit programming and other opportunities for students in the K-12 system. RDP has met with representatives from the Government of Alberta to discuss the possibility of including the expansion in the 2023 budget cycle.
