RRC Polytech receives funding for Interdisciplinary Health Sciences and Community Services Simulation Centre

Red River College Polytechnic has received over $12.5M from the Government of Manitoba to create the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences and Community Services Simulation Centre. The centre will be located at the Notre Dame Campus and will provide training to students from 15 programs, including healthcare and community services programs. The Simulation Centre will include immersive technology and settings such as a triage station, hospital ward, health-care simulation room, phlebotomy lab, and an apartment where students can practice responding to mock challenges such as disasters, in-home emergencies, and other scenarios. “[T]he Simulation Centre will engage students from multiple programs, mirroring actual health-care and community settings they will experience in the workforce,” said RRC Polytech Dean, School of Health Sciences and Community Services Debbie O’Donnell Weigelt.
