As classrooms continue to evolve, postsecondary institutions should continue to support instructors’ professional development with training and resources, write Thomas Hoover, Richard Shrubb, and Donna Johnson. Hoover, Shrubb, and Johnson provide several recommendations for ensuring success in innovation, such as choosing technology mindfully to ensure that it is user-friendly and can be standardized to unify training, providing training on how to use the university’s learning management system, and reflecting on the lessons learned from the pandemic. The authors also encourage educators to design their courses with new learning modes such as hyflex in mind to ensure that students can learn in the way that is best for them.
