Technology-mediated abuse during the emergency remote education in PSE: Study

In a recent study published in Higher Education, UK researcher Helen Bovill explores intentional and unintentional technology-mediated abuse during the pandemic-driven move to online learning. Bovill notes that Universities UK found that there was an increase in control, coercion, threats, and stalking behaviour between members of the university community during emergency remote education. To prevent this behaviour in the future, Bovill offers ten questions and an example framework that institutions can use to learn from the past and create stronger practices for the future.
