Thompson Rivers University’s Early Childhood Education Centre opened its doors earlier this week. The new building includes space for an additional 37 on-campus childcare spaces at the Cariboo Child Care Society, and will house the university’s Early Childhood Education program and researchers. The $7.2M project was supported by the ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund, the province, and TRU. “It brings together a high-quality daycare centre with post-secondary students and researchers in a space where learning happens on multiple levels and ideas can be readily explored,” said TRU President Brett Fairbairn.
