U of T announces triple vaccination requirement to live in campus, StFX announces mask mandate

The University of Toronto has announced that students living in residence will need to be triple-vaccinated before moving in. “The University of Toronto continues to monitor Toronto, Peel, and provincial public health guidance as we experience a new wave of COVID-19 infections,” wrote Cheryl Regehr (VP and Provost) and Kelly Hannah-Moffat (VP, People Strategy, Equity, and Culture). The university stopped requiring proof of vaccination for those attending classes on campus on May 1st and gradually lifted its mask mandate, reports The Star, but recently reinstated the vaccination requirement for those living in campus. CBC reports that St Francis Xavier University has followed Mount Allison University in announcing that masks will be mandatory in all educational areas this Fall.
