U of T Scarborough receives $25M to fund construction of new health facility

The University of Toronto Scarborough has received $25M from a gift from the Orlando Foundation that is focused on strengthening Eastern GTA’s health services. The funding will support the construction of the new Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH) on U of T’s Scarborough campus. The new facility will include cutting-edge technologies that will support advanced health training programs and professional development, and will act as an economic stimulus for the region. $10M of the gift will be used to match community donations toward the construction of SAMIH.
