The University of British Columbia has partnered with the City of Mission to provide a new opportunity for graduate students to study climate change and sustainability in the Mission Municipal Forest. Students in Faculty of Forestry will have the opportunity to go on field trips, and those enrolled in the Masters of Sustainable Forest Management program will be able to take part in projects with the Mission Forestry Department. The research projects will focus on climate change. “[The partnership] aligns well with our collaborative approach to addressing some of the planet’s most pressing issues, such as climate change adaptation and mitigation,” said UBC Dean of Forestry Robert Kozak.
