UCalgary receives $7.5M for cardiovascular research, education, clinical care centre

The University of Calgary has received $7.5M in renewed support for the Libin Cardiovascular Institute from the Alvin and Mona Libin Foundation. The institute is a research, education, and clinical care centre that focuses on improving cardiovascular health in Alberta. Since its creation, the institute has worked on outcomes that include life-changing discoveries for patients suffering cardiac arrest and new ways to mitigate blood pressure fluctuations. “The Alvin and Mona Libin Foundation continues to lead the way in supporting exceptional cardiovascular care across Western Canada,” said UCalgary President Dr Ed McCauley.
