The University of Guelph’s Guelph Turfgrass Institute (GTI) recently celebrated its 35-year anniversary and marked the occasion by opening the new GM Frost Research and Information Centre. The new centre includes 14 research plots with different turfgrass cultivars, mowing heights, and soil types; laboratories; and diagnostics clinic and study space. Researchers at the centre will study issues such as pesticide use, grass species, varieties and seeding methods, sports field construction, and disease and weed control.
