The University of Guelph-Humber has received a $1M donation from the Flanagan Foundation that will support changes to its early childhood studies (ECS) program. The university will use the funding to hire an Indigenous faculty member who will ensure that ECS students are exposed to Indigenous knowledge and experience, and will additionally hire an Indigenous curriculum specialist. “This is a great opportunity to enhance child studies in [UoGuelph’s Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition],” said UoGuelph-Humber ECS program head Dr Nikki Martyn. “I’m very excited that our students will be able to learn about all the tremendous work that Indigenous communities have done in ECE over the years.” Nation Talk| UoGuelph Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
