USherbrooke, partners launch collaboration on biodiversity indicators

The Université de Sherbrooke has partnered with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), Fondaction, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS Quebec), and the Québec Centre for Biodiversity Science (QCBS) to conduct research focused on creating biodiversity indicators. Investors will be able to use the indicators to measure how different investments impact biodiversity in Québec through a shared framework. The indicators will also enable those in conservation, biodiversity, research, and finance to advocate for QC biodiversity. “The project is built around collaboration, which ensures sufficient planning and execution that follows scientific methods and the needs of the financial sector,” said USherbrooke Professor Dominique Gravel. The two-year project is led by USherbrooke postdoc Félix Landry. Newswire Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
