UWaterloo receives $2M donation to support students facing financial, socio-economic barriers

The University of Waterloo has received a $2M gift from The Joyce Family Foundation that will be used to support students who are facing barriers to achieving postsecondary education. The funds will be used to create renewable awards for students experiencing financial or socio-economic challenges. “The Joyce Scholars Awards will enable students from all backgrounds to pursue their passions and grow as citizens and leaders,” said UWaterloo President Vivek Goel. “I look forward to witnessing their accomplishments as they work with our University community to create more sustainable, prosperous futures for all.” UWaterloo Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
