Vancouver Community College and Vancouver Island University have launched projects that will make menstrual products available for free in campus washrooms. VCC has launched the All About ME – Menstrual Equity program and has installed free menstrual product dispensers in every universal or all-gender washroom on campus. VCC is planning to track usage so that it can determine the feasibility of adding the dispensers to additional washrooms in the future. VIU will be offering menstrual products in all of its women’s and gender-neutral washrooms. The initiative has been expanded after a pilot program clearly demonstrated a need.
