Two universities in Nova Scotia have announced that they will continue to require masks in the classrooms in the Winter semester. Dalhousie University announced that the decision was made with input from the institution’s COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Council and that it aligns with Nova Scotia Public Health’s recommendations. At the University of King’s College, students will be required to wear masks in classrooms and in the library, though lecturers and instructors will be able to remove their masks. “This decision will, I’m sure, cause relief in some and frustration in others,” said U of King’s College President WIlliam Lahey. “Experiences of the pandemic have varied significantly from one person to the next, and the same is true of our levels of tolerance toward the restrictions and policies introduced to mitigate its risks. This decision was not taken lightly.” CBC Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
