Jonquière under criticism for awarding contracts to companies with links to staff members

Journal de Montréal reports that Cégep de Jonquière has awarded several contracts over the past five years to companies that have links to staff members. Contracts totaling almost $40K were awarded over the last five years to Trigone, a human resources company where Martin Jean (VP Board of Directors at Jonquière) is reportedly employed as a director; while Katabatik, a company reportedly owned by former Jonquière employee Sébastien Savard, was awarded almost a dozen contracts which total over $11K in 2020 and 2021. Jonquière says that steps were taken to ensure that conflicts of interest did not influence the decision-making process and denies showing favour to employees in granting the contracts.
