Universities in Australia and the United Kingdom have encountered fraudulent Ontario Secondary School Diplomas, reports Xiao Xu for the Globe and Mail. In the UK, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service identified a number of applications from the 2021 and 2022 academic years that either had fraudulent OSSD documentation or fraudulent references in support of it. Xu reports that the OSSD has seen increased popularity outside of Canada. In Australia, the University of Sydney and University of Queensland each stated that they were aware of “a significant rise” in fraudulent transcripts, particularly from online private schools. Both ASK Online Canada and Rosedale Global High School said that they had been fraudulently represented on transcripts that the school did not produce. USydney stated that it is currently only considering students from select in-person ON schools. Globe and Mail (Acct. Req.) Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
