Brandon University has issued an apology to students who experienced abuse and harassment while in the soccer program. The apology follows a recently released report that condemned the behaviour of former Brandon University soccer coach Jesse Roziere. BrandonU apologized for the length of the process, the impact on students, and any public statements from the institution that may have cast doubt on the students’ experiences. The apology pledges that the university will address personnel issues, review policies and processes, and review the Athletics program. The Winnipeg Free Press reports that the university plans to consult community members about the future of a campus office tasked with supporting people who report sexualized violence on campus.
