Canada announces $4M investment into events commemorating Truth and Reconciliation

The Government of Canada has announced a $4M investment to support events and projects that commemorate Truth and Reconciliation. The funds are provided in honour of the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to help organizations and institutions across Canada remember the impact of residential schools and foster healing for Survivors, families, and communities. The University of Manitoba: National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation has received over $626K to offer a week’s worth of educational programming called Truth and Reconciliation Week: Remembering the Children. Other postsecondary institutions that received funding for events and projects include Yellowquill University College, the University of New Brunswick, Lakehead University, Laurentian University, and St Lawrence College.
