The Government of Canada is investing more than $1.4B in official language education across the country. This investment is part of the new Protocol for Agreements for Minority-Language Education and Second-Language Instruction for 2024 to 2028. The protocol includes $104M in funding for postsecondary education in the minority language. It also earmarks funding for initiatives related to minority-language education, second-language instruction, and the recruitment and retention of teachers. “By investing in minority-language education and second-language instructions we’re giving Canadians the choice to study in English and French—and promoting bilingualism,” said Canada Minister of Official Languages Rachel Bendayan.
