Computer science researchers discuss challenges, obstacles in the field

In a recent article for Inside Higher Ed, Susan D’Agostino shares computer scientists’ views on the challenges and obstacles that the field of computer science will need to overcome. Researchers discussed challenges such as ethical issues, the speed at which machine learning changes, and underrepresentation in the field. Some shared that computer science departments are stretched thin in terms of resources, making development a challenge, and that the higher wages available in the private sector are leading to faculty shortages in computer science programs.
