Contact North receives $4.7M investment from ON to deliver virtual learning, training

The Government of Ontario has announced a $4.7M investment in Contact North| Contact Nord to ensure learners from underserved communities can access flexible, virtual learning and training opportunities. Contact North will use the funds to create 13 online learning centres that include Extended Reality (XR) technology and offer a laptop and internet loaner program. “By continuing to invest in ground-breaking virtual programs and technologies that remove barriers to learning, we are giving jobseekers in every corner of the province a fair chance to acquire the skills needed to compete in the labour market,” said ON Minister of Colleges and Universities Jill Dunlop. “This funding will provide learners living in small, rural, remote, Indigenous and Francophone communities with access to virtual ‘hands-on’ training to position them for success in the workforce.” ON Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
