Holland College has launched a Supportive Care Assistant Microcredential that will prepare students to work in long-term care facilities. Students will spend six weeks completing online training in areas such as professionalism, supportive assistance, communication, and infection control and safety, before proceeding into a 280-hour work placement. The microcredential can be used on its own or be stacked with other microcredentials to fulfill the requirements for a larger credential. The program is offered free of charge, and students who complete it can receive a $5K stipend to support furthering their education in a related program.
