McGill University has officially inaugurated its new Outaouais campus in the Gatineau region. The campus will play an important role in training medical doctors in French and contributing to the delivery of quality health care in the region, according to McGill Principal Suzanne Fortier. The campus will offer a four-year MD program, residency programs, and an MD preparatory year. In total, about 150 doctors in training will be supported by the campus as they study and work in clinical settings across the region. The campus was developed in partnership with the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), the Centre intégré de santé et des services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, and the Government of Quebec.
