McGill has advised that if the application is already installed on any McGill-managed device, it must be removed immediately. This restriction follows McGill’s earlier decision to ban the installation of TikTok on any university devices and takes the lead from the Government of Québec and Government of Canada’s decisions to ban both TikTok and WeChat from government devices.
