McGill, UMontréal collaborate on vocal collaboration program through $2M donation from Azrieli Foundation

McGill University and the Université de Montréal have collaborated to create an intensive joint residency program for pianists thanks to a $2M donation from the Azrieli Foundation. The McGill-UdeM Piano-Vocal Accompaniment Residency will focus on training pianists to provide accompaniment and vocal coaching for high-level singers. The residency aims to address a shortage of collaborative pianists through an intensive nine-month program for six students per year. “In Canada, we produce some of the world’s best singers,” said member of the Azrieli Foundation’s Board of Directors Dr Sharon Azrieli. “Imagine how far they could excel if they had the best partners at the piano!” McGill| UMontréal Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
