McMaster University has announced that it will launch the Wilson College of Leadership and Civic Engagement, thanks to a $50M donation from Chancellor Emeritus Lynton “Red” Wilson and the Wilson Foundation. The College will offer a unique leadership and civic studies program; experiential learning opportunities; and a new, dedicated on-campus residence space. The investment will also be used to create the Wilson Chair in Leadership and Civic Studies. McMaster stated that the gift is the largest ever received by a liberal arts program at a Canadian university.
